The future of commerce and the individual’s integrity

Today, the Almedalen Week starts on the island Gotland in Sweden. The Almedalen Week is a long-standing tradition and has grown to become the world’s largest democratic meeting place for social issues. This year, Alektum Group is also there.

We are hosting two inspiring events during the week. Start your Tuesday with an energy boost and listen while we discuss the challenges and questions around the future of commerce. Later in the day, we welcome you to the launch event of “Shop Lagom” – our new initiative to inspire financial balance and minimise over-indebtedness.

Not able to join us in Almedalen this year? No problem, we will stream the debate live here >>

Tuesday, July 2 | Breakfast seminar and panel debate

Ethics in commerce – what happens when the merchant knows everything about the customer?

The EU directive PSD2 will have a great impact on future commerce. It will increase competition in the financial market while strengthening consumer rights. Alektum Group invites you to a panel debate where we will discuss questions such as payment difficulties, over-indebtedness and debt traps from a social perspective. Other examples of questions that will be discussed include:

  • Is it positive for the consumer to constantly show their ability to pay?
  • What happens when third-party suppliers gain access to the banks’ customer data?
  • What opportunities and challenges does PSD2 present for commerce and consumers?

When: Tuesday, July 2 at 8:00–9.00 (Breakfast will be served from 7:30)
Where: Narvas Garden, Strandgatan 15B
